What does “fine free” mean for you? You will not see overdue or late fines on East Providence Public Library materials. The library will no longer collect money when a book is overdue.
Replacement fees for lost or damaged items remain in effect.
Your library still appreciates on-time and early returns. Library materials will also continue to auto renew two times unless others are waiting for them. When an item finally becomes 7 days overdue, you will receive an overdue notice. You will not be able to check out another item nor will other items auto renew until the overdue item is returned. You will be sent a second overdue notice and then billed if the item is not returned in 30 days. This has been a statewide practice for years and it will continue
