Pumpernickel Puppets presents a lively adaption of Beatrix Potter’s well-loved tale. Join adventurous, and naughty Peter Rabbit, who against his mother’s wishes ventures into Mr. McGregor’s garden for a taste of his favorite vegetable treats. This colorful and fun production is presented with large hand puppets and live voices and sound effects.
In this workshop, learn to press flowers to create a beautiful mixed media journal to take home. In addition, there will be an introduction for floral arranging by making bouquets to be donated by What Cheer Flower Farm. All materials provided.
Take part in a year long quilt making process! Every month Sharon, our resident sewing expert, will walk you through creating one section of Eleanor Burns and Sue Bouchard’s Underground Railroad quilt. Come December, you will have a full quilt!
There will be two sessions of this program, one on the first Tuesday of every month and the other on the third Tuesday of every month. We ask that you do your best to stick to whichever session you register for throughout the year.

The East Providence Public Library is proud to present our annual outdoor summer concert series on the Weaver Library lawn!
In this concert, three separate bands from the Governor’s Own 88th Army will perform. FlexWinds (the woodwind group), Coyote Brass (funky brass band), and Down Range Rhythm (rock band) will all be playing! All groups will play a mixture of patriotic and popular music.

Learn how to paint a picture from start to finish with a professional artist, and take home your masterpiece! Rebecca Killian of Mermaid Masterpieces will show you how!

Future Spielberg’s take to the “green screen” to create postcards, commercials, and mini-movies. They could find themselves walking on the moon, riding a roller coaster, or giving a book report in the setting of their favorite book. We provide the green screen, camera, and props, and participants provide the creativity! Ages 7+

Raptors include hawks, falcons and owls, and this presentation, which incorporates 5 live birds of prey, all native to New England, gives an overview of these different categories.
The program explains predation, the birds’ place at the top of the food web, their different hunting adaptations and their status in a rapidly changing world.

Rhode Island’s hometown Cajun band, Magnolia, has been a favorite in New England since 1989! They’ve long favored the traditional dancehall style of driving two-steps and smooth waltzes with soulful French vocals, learning from some of Louisiana’s fines musicians. The dance floor is always full when Magnolia’s in town!
Alan Bradbury on accordion, Michelle Kaminsky and Chris Ash on fiddles, Maggie Moniz on guitar, Martin Grosswendt on bass, and Richie Moniz on triangle, and Jack Ezikovich on drums.

Speed Stacking is a fun, fast-paced game where players stack specially designed cups in specific sequences and patterns. Come learn all about this exciting game and practice racing the clock to improve your time!

In this program, participants will modify Dash robots with balloons, skewers, plastic straws, and more as they prepare for battle! Participants work together in teams, controlling their “battlebot” until the last balloon is popped! Ages 7+

Henry the Juggler (AKA Henry Lappen) is wanted! He is wanted by audiences everywhere for his zany attempts to defy the laws of gravity. He juggles any number of balls, clubs, rings, members of the audience (?!) He balances strange items on the tip of his nose. Everything is accomplished wordlessly as Henry uses body language (and road signs!) to express himself. Caution: Henry is known to use innocent bystanders in his act.
Henry the Juggler is a professional. He has been seen by tens of thousands up and down the East Coast – at theaters, schools, libraries and festivals. He has been performing for almost 40 years. He studied physical comedy at California’s Del’Arte School and continues his development with classes in tango and yoga. He is an active member of the International Jugglers’ Association.

Navy Band Northeast’s Woodwind Quintet performances are appreciated by audiences of all ages. The quintet performs a wide range of musical styles encompassing traditional and modern brass literature, from Dixieland jazz to patriotic marches. Quintet performances include public concerts and educational clinics, as well as military ceremonies and receptions.
