Due to unforeseen circumstances, our furry friend Danny will not be able to read with kids today. Look for him again in February.
Kids can drop in to read to our favorite Cocker Spaniel Danny at Weaver Library on Monday, January 24, 4:00-6:00. Listening to kids read is one of Danny's favorite activities! Parents, bring your child for stress-free reading practice.
Studies have found that reading aloud to dogs improved children's attitudes toward books and increased their confidence. Dogs, relaxed and nonjudgemental, seem to help even struggling readers enjoy a book.
Registration is not necessary.

These programs also foster attentiveness, good listening, following directions, and a love of literature and learning, all of which are readiness skills that will prepare children for success in school.

June 1, 2022 10:00 am - June 1, 2022 11:00 amJoin early childhood educators from EBCAP (East Bay Community Action Center) for a 6-week "Play & Learn" series to explore fun ways you can support your child's growth and development.
This program series is geared for babies - 48 months and their caregivers, plus older siblings are welcome. Each session, participants will receive a free children's book, supplies, and resources for learning at home.
East Providence HEZ (Health Equity Zone) Family Navigator Naomi Zeltzer will also be on site to provide information about community resources and how to access them.
