
The US military has placed hundreds of bases in 80 countries around the world. Costing billions of dollars and supported by the each country's government, do the people appreciate these bases? Do they resent them?
The talk will be given by George Kassis who has spent over 25 years with the UN with assignments in the Middle East and the UN Headquarters in New York City. Presently retired and living in Portsmouth, he has taught courses on Understanding the Middle East and the Arab Israeli Conflict at the Circle of Scholars program at Salve Regina University in Newport.
