In her talk, “The Year the World Stood Still”, author / artist Susan Brescia will share her own personal story of how she turned adversity into something positive during COVID-19 and what inspired her to memorialize this once-in-a-lifetime community event. Sue will discuss the creative process of journaling through art while you observe displayed original charcoal drawings as well as read snippets from their accompanying real-life stories of love, heroism, selflessness and hope. Those in attendance will leave with the feeling of hope and a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit.
The talk is followed by an opportunity for audience discussion and purchases of Sue’s book.
This event is free and open to the public. Limited seating available, first come, first served, and we will cap this event at 70 seats.
