The Fuller Creative Learning Center invites you meet new people while sharing your ideas during a series of light-hearted gatherings on the lawn during August.  The series is free, chairs will be provided, and the moderator is Betsy Shea-Taylor who has also moderated the Socrates Café at Weaver Public Library for five years. Those who register will be contacted if weather cancels any of the gatherings.

    Monday, Aug. 1, at 10:30 a.m. Gratitude
When did you last feel grateful for something someone did for you? What was it and how did it make you feel? Did you thank them? How? Do we show our gratitude as much as we could? Do we wave at the driver who lets us into traffic? Do we thank family members and co-workers for their help?

Monday, Aug. 8: Holiday, no meeting.

    Monday, Aug. 15, at 10:30 a.m.  Play
Children will cover the sidewalk in five minutes with colored chalk. But how do adults play, except on a screen? When’s the last time any of us rode a carousel or tried croquet or danced at Larisa Park on a music night in summer? Why or why not? What was most fun for you, when you were a child?

    Monday, Aug. 22, at 10:30 a.m. Listening
When’s the last time someone really listened to you and made you feel that they understood what you were feeling? What was that like? Do we listen enough to each other or are we more content to argue? Can we listen calmly to someone who has ideas that may differ from ours? Why or why not?

    Monday, Aug. 29, at 10:30 a.m. Awe
Awe is amazement at a sight – such as a rainbow or the ocean -- an accomplishment, an experience. A few years go, a small boy at a fancy Boston classical music concert shouted “WOW” when the music ended and before people had started applauding. He made national news for displaying his awe. What fills you with awe?
