    This is a 6 week session: Wednesdays, 4 – 5 pm, January 26 – March 2 at Riverside Library. (Please note that masks must be worn in the building at this time, and parents will be asked to wait outside the program room as we are only allowed to have a small number of people gathered in the room.     ENRICHri is an inclusive, non-religious community which provides support, friendship, and guidance for homeschooling families in Southern New England and promotes homeschooling within the greater community. ENRICHri was founded in 2009 by 10 homeschooling families in Rhode Island who gathered weekly for support and fun and has grown to be the largest secular homeschooling group in the state.

  • Virtual Longevity Noodles for Spring Festival @ 6pm

    Longevity noodles symbolize a wish for long life. This is a popular dish to make for Chinese New Year, also called Spring Festival. The festival begins on February 1, kicking off the year of the Tiger. Join us virtually to make a simple version of this delicious dish. The recipe will be sent in advance of the class so participants can cook along during the program. If you can eat them without biting through the strands, it’s considered even more lucky!

    Tuesdays, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, at 10:30. Registration is not required, and this program will be cancelled in the event of bad weather. We will announce cancellations here on our Events Calendar.

    Join us for an interactive learning opportunity where young children enjoy a story, rhymes, songs, and play. Our storytime programs include the five practices of early literacy: talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing. These programs also foster attentiveness, good listening, following directions, and a love of literature and learning, all of which are readiness skills that will prepare children for success in school.

    Through Me To You Puppetry invites you to join Newton and his puppet friends for some Story Time fun! Newton and his friends take turns reading stories about the Lunar New Year. We will present “The Chinese New Year,” “The Chinese New Year Dragon Nian,” “Goldy Luck & The Three Pandas,” and “Ten Mice for Tet.”  At the end of the show, the kids are invited to “unmute” and say hi to Newton. Our special 45-minute Zoom show is geared to all ages!

  • The Magic in the Purse Gifting Event @Weaver Library

    Author and illustrator Ashley Alves will be giving out 100 copies of her new board book The Magic in the Purse along with a toddler friendly sparkly “magic” pink purse. Registration required below.

    The Magic in the Purse is a literary recreation of a family tradition. Ashley’s mother gave Ashley a “magical” pink purse when she was a young child. Everyday, in that little pink purse, she collected all types of unique items, and the purse became an endless source of entertainment. Ashley believes that this sentimental carryall helped her develop healthy coping skills, emotional strength, vision, security and confidence. She hopes this book will inspire children everywhere to find the magic in their own daily journey.

    About the author:

    Ashley Alves is a multi-disciplined artist & designer, born and raised in East Providence.She earned a bachelor of science in fashion merchandising & apparel design from Georgia Southern University, and a master of arts in illustration and master of fine arts in fashion from Savannah College of Art & Design.
