Longevity noodles symbolize a wish for long life. This is a popular dish to make for Chinese New Year, also called Spring Festival. The festival begins on February 1, kicking off the year of the Tiger. Join us virtually to make a simple version of this delicious dish. Joe Godfrey is a Rhode Island based pianist and educator that excels in many styles of music. With a repertoire that includes jazz standards, well known classical pieces, Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and the Beatles, he is sure to find a song that resonates with you. Join us for this Valentine’s Day concert and enjoy an array of classic love songs!

Joe holds degrees in Jazz Studies (MM) from the University of South Carolina and Jazz Performance (BM) from the University of Rhode Island. Currently, he teaches piano for the RI Philharmonic and Music School, the Rhody Center, and privately.

Through Me To You Puppetry invites you to join Newton and his puppet friends for some Story Time fun! Newton and his friends take turns reading stories about the Lunar New Year. We will present “The Chinese New Year,” “The Chinese New Year Dragon Nian,” “Goldy Luck & The Three Pandas,” and “Ten Mice for Tet.”  At the end of the show, the kids are invited to “unmute” and say hi to Newton.
