EAST PROVIDENCE PUBLIC LIBRARY

 Champlin Program Room Policy

 

The East Providence Public Library provides the Champlin Program Room at the Weaver Library for use by community groups when library activities are not occupying the room.  Any group may use the room for lawful, non-commercial purposes.  Permission granted to use the Program Room in no way constitutes endorsement of the policies or beliefs of any group or organization.

Permission to use the Champlin Program Room shall be obtained by a completed application form and scheduled with the Library Administrative Assistant.  Booking the Program Room is on a first come, first serve basis and library use takes precedence.  A group may only have two active reservations at one time.  If the meeting or activity for which the room has been booked is canceled, the contact person for the group is requested to notify the Library Administrative Assistant.  Repeated failure to do so will result in loss of privileges.

·        The Champlin Program Room is not available for purely social functions (functions designed for entertainment with friends or associates).

·        The Champlin Program Room is only available during library hours. 

·      Normal operation of the library is not to be disrupted by users of the Program Room. 

·        No fees are charged for the use of the Champlin Program Room and groups may not charge admission to programs. 

·        Groups may restrict meetings to their own membership. 

·        AV Equipment is not provided by the library. 

·        Adult supervision is required when children are using the program room. 

·     Groups may not exceed the capacity of the Champlin Program Room which is 110. 

·        There is no smoking in the East Providence Public Library. 

·       Simple refreshments may be served provided groups use their own supplies and equipment and leave the Champlin Program Room in a clean and orderly condition. 

·       Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. 

·      Materials are not to be attached to walls, doors, furnishings, except at the direction of authorized library staff.
